Some people are made to succeed in business and others probably never will, not unless they change their ways anyway.

Whether you’re trying to get a side hustle going to boost your budget, or you’re in the process of setting up a small business that you hope will prove fruitful for you over the years, if you are a certain type of person – one of the below types of people who never succeed in business – then you may want to think about who you are and what you’re doing and make a few changes…

The Scaredy Cat

The scaredy cat is that person who has what he thinks is a really good idea for a business or side hustle. He’s been nursing and refining this idea for years, and he has what he thinks is a good plan to ensure its success, but he just can’t get started. He can’t overcome his fear of the unknown to take the leap and build up a successful business. If he doesn’t conquer his fears, he never will reach his full potential.

The Chronic Starter

The chronic starter is the girl or guy who gets started with an idea, immediately pays for a neat web design and starts building up social media contacts and driving traffic, only to become disillusioned with the project when it doesn’t immediately take off or when she has another, brighter idea. She starts things, but she never finishes them because, if she faces the truth, she has no discipline, a lack of motivation and too little grit to take things further. If you recognize yourself in her, it’s time to start building up your ability to start something and see it through.

The Technophobe

The technophobe is someone who probably knows how to access the internet to read the news or browse their favorite store, but has very little information about its workings beyond that. They find it difficult to succeed in business because, right now in 2018, if you don’t have a strong online presence, you aren’t creating content and engagement on social media, and you don’t have a basic grasp of things like the cloud and data servers, it can be pretty hard to get a good thing going. If you don’t know how to set up a blog or what the cloud is, remedy that, and you’ll stand a much better chance of building a successful business. Tech skills are no longer optional.

The Liar

There are a lot of people who think they can make money and succeed in the business world by lying. Not only do they lie to their customers, their partner, their investors and their readers, but they lie to themselves. They tell themselves that it’s OK to lie if the end justifies the means and they make more sales or improve their own status; they convince themselves that they aren’t hurting anyone, But, you know what? Most people can spot a liar a mile off and if you aren’t authentic in the digital age, your business ain’t going nowhere.

Do you fit any of these ‘types’? If you see yourself in any of the above, don’t give up. Work on your flaws (everyone has them), and you’ll come out stronger and more successful as a result.
